Fresh and forward, with a slight plump hint to the mix of white peach, salted butter and yellow apple notes. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
Fresh green fruit on the nose and a streak of lanolin on the spicy, satin-textured palate. Some slight sweetness on the end. Pretty damned good for a second wine. Just a little abrupt on the finish. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2017-2020
The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc is round, succulent and absolutely delicious. The balance of midpalate texture and freshness makes for a compelling white wine to drink now and over the next few years. Orchard fruit, white flowers and a hint of sweetness from the oak and the natural richness of the vintage infuse the creamy, inviting finish. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
About the producer

Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the leading lights of Pessac-Léognan today – all thanks to Daniel and Florence Cathiard, who took over the property in 1990 and have since transformed the estate, converting to biodynamics and crafting wines of increasing finesse.
