Another juicy red with plenty of fruit and an underlying freshness of acidity. Firm tannins, medium body and an electric finish. Clear. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

The 2016 La Cour d'Argent, owned by Denis Barraud, has a lifted blackcurrant scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannin, tarry black fruit with a touch of white pepper towards the finish. It just feels a little brutish at the moment. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
