A little fluid right now but this shows attractive blackcurrant and berry character. Medium body, firm tannins and a medium finish. Wait and see. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

Purple. Slightly muted nose. All a bit muted and timid. Correct but not very expressive. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2030

The 2016 Moulin Haut-Laroque is a soft, pretty wine to drink young, while the flavors remain vibrant. Red berry blood orange and mint run through this very pretty, if somewhat understated, Fronsac. This is a lovely showing. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com

Rich, deep purple in colour. Here the oak is simply too heavy handed, masking any sense of vibrancy. You can tell the fruit is ripe, and there is some attractive intensity, but it's drying on the finish. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2020-2033
