An outstanding Fronsac, the 2016 Château Moulin Haut-Laroque is another high-quality wine from this vintage that I expect will sell for a song. Terrific black fruits, wood smoke, tobacco, and graphite all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, rounded, and textured. It’s one sexy Fronsac to drink over the coming 10-12 years.
The 2016 Moulin Haut-Laroque has an intense yet well-defined bouquet of layers of red cherry and raspberry fruit; hints of cassis emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure mulberry and red currant notes and a refined, caressing finish. Delicious!
The 2016 Moulin Haut-Laroque is a gorgeous, fleshy wine with tons of near and medium term appeal. Black cherry, blackberry, grilled herb, leather and chocolate are all fused together in this succulent, voluptuous Fronsac. The 2016 is fabulous. Don't miss it. Tasted two times.
