Tasting notes
The 2016 Clinet has a gorgeous bouquet with ebullient red berry fruit, wild hedgerow and light gravel/loamy scents. Very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very focused, very lithe in the mouth. Quite sensual towards the finish, this is drinking beautifully. I admire its precision. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

This is medium- to full-bodied with aromas of chocolate, earth and dark fruit. Velvety yet expansive tannins. This is youthful and approachable, but will improve with bottle age. Drink from 2028. 10 Years On retrospective.
Creamy, powerful but restrained, and excellent Clinet that really shows the potential and character of the estate. Love this wine, sleek, cocoa bean, bilberry and grilled blackberry, riven through with baking spice and freshly cut herbs. 65% new oak. 39hl/h yield. Ronan Laborde owner.
Grilled sandalwood, vanilla bean, charcoal, damson and black cherry, here they get the balance exactly right between concentration and lightness of touch. Ytterly compelling, a great wine, layering brambled fruit against tighter juicy cassis and bilberry. Tannins remain grainy and slate-textured at seven years old, holding on tight, this much further to go over the next decade. I gave it 97 En primeur and this is an upscore. 65% new oak. 39hl/h yield. Ronan Laborde owner.
