Tasting notes
The 2016 Les Gravières has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet with crushed violet petals infusing the blackberry and strawberry aromas. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity and hints of salted licorice infusing the black fruit. Good build in the mouth and gentle grip on the finish. Excellent.

A decidedly riper style with dark-plum compote and notes of rhubarb and licorice. The palate has density of fruit in a dark, essence-like mode with full body and assertive, rich and ripe tannins. Try from 2022.
The 2016 Les Gravieres has a lovely ripe red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet with a touch of orange blossom following through. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin and plenty blackberry and bilberry fruit, leading to a structured tobacco-tinged finish. This is a well-made Saint Emilion.
A firm and tangy young red with firm and solid tannins. Juicy fruit. Medium body and a medium finish. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
