Tasting Notes
Wow. This is a dense and impressive 2016 with a beautiful center palate and round and velvety tannins. Got everything going for it. Best ever?

The 2016 Tour Maillet has quite a rich and heady bouquet with black cherries and mulberry fruit, a little jammy in the context of other Pomerols. The palate is sweet on the entry and actually shows more backbone than the nose suggests: fine tannin, crisp black fruit with a saline twist on the finish. I suspect that the aromatics will improve during its barrel maturation and it could well turn into a fine, mid-weight Pomerol. The 2016 Tour Maillet is deep garnet-purple colored with blackberries, blackcurrants and kirsch with touches of cedar chest, tobacco and tilled soil plus pepper wafts. The palate is medium-bodied, structured, firm and lively, finishing long and chewy. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
