Tasting notes
Bouncy blood orange and cherry fruit flavors are lined with a light mineral edge. Focused and pretty. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com

Deep crimson with purplish notes. Not that fresh on the nose. Sample problem? Sweet start – much the sweetest vintage of this wine I can remember. Extraordinary really – and perhaps evidence of just how special this vintage is. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2019-2027
The 2016 Reynon is dark, fleshy and inviting. Black cherry, plum, lavender, chocolate, spice and mocha run through this succulent, juicy Merlot-based blend from the Dubourdieu family. The oak needs a bit of time to settle down. Otherwise, this is very nicely done. Once again, Reynon is shaping up to be a fine value. Tasted two times. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
Of course, the 2016 Chateau Reynon will always be tinged with sadness as it was the year that proprietor Denis Dubourdieu passed away. This is quite upfront and bold on the nose and perhaps "glossier" than I expected. The palate is very tannic and firm on the entry with touches of tobacco and sea salt, grippy in the mouth. It is clearly a wine destined for the long-term, so afford it two or three years in bottle. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2020-2032
