Tasting notes
Blackish crimson. Sweet, floral nose. Very soft. Where are the tannins?! Salty end. Easy to like but not very serious. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2020-2030

The 2016 La Fleur Peyrabon has a perfumed, floral bouquet not a million miles away from Margaux. I appreciate the definition and freshness here. The palate is medium-bodied, not a powerful Pauillac but very elegant. The tannins here seem very fine and there is wonderful tension towards the finish. Maybe not a long-term proposition—it may need more body—but it is a beautiful wine that should give a lot of pleasure over the next 10-15 years. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
This is pretty closed down. Feel the weight and the swagger of the tannins, it's a good wine but more foursquare and old school than many Pauillacs who have worked their tannins a little more silkily this year. But I like the traditional side to it - a Pauillac lovers' Pauillac, and a value pick at this wine's usual price point. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2023-2038
