Tasting notes
A dense and rich red with blackberry, blueberry and fresh mushroom character. Medium to full body, a wonderful balance of ripe tannins and fresh acidity. Harmonious, young wine. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

Sweet and rich - and fairly toasty. Good fruit and zest. Though it's pretty drying on the end. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2032
The 2016 La Confession is bold, powerful and juicy. Inky red/purplish fruit, spice, licorice, lavender and sweet oak are pushed forward. Racy and voluptuous, the 2016 offers plenty of immediacy in a decidedly fruit-driven style, although it is hardly the last word in complexity. The 2016 is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Tasted two times. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
The 2016 La Confession has a tightly wound bouquet with red and black fruit, a touch of pencil box emanating from the Cabernet Franc. It needed a little encouragement from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, quite spicy in the mouth but missing just a little persistence on the finish. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
