Tasting notes
Good full red. Liqueur-like redcurrant and red cherry plus an earthy nuance on the very ripe nose. Sweet, creamy and very smooth in the middle palate, offering very ripe, slightly high-toned flavors of strawberry and raspberry. Then totally different on the back end, where firm minerality and brisk acidity give terrific grip to the finish. This fascinating wine will need time to resolve its tannins.

Pale crimson. Sweet chestnut nose. Lots of fruit and substance. Grainy. Dry lively finish. Lots of life. (JR)
Healthy dark red. Very ripe aromas of blackberry, licorice and herbs lifted by a peppery quality; reminded me of Bonnes-Mares. Very intensely flavored and suave, combining a thickness of texture with a light touch. This is more compact in the middle palate than the Fuées today but the wine's sucrosité and silky tannins give it a more enveloping quality. This wonderfully concentrated, tactile Chambolle is packed with fruit.
