Tasting notes
The 2014 Pinot Noir Botanica is true to its name, with incredibly singular aromas reminiscent of alpine flora: crushed cranberries, raspberries and fresh blackberries are accented with fir, tomato stalk, scrub brush, citrus peel and earthy notions of forest floor. It has a medium weight and floods the mouth with juniper-laced, sweet berry fruits, with a grainy frame and lip-smacking freshness, finishing long and nuanced. This is so full of personality!

Deep red. Highly perfumed aromas of blackberry, candied cherry and rose oil are complemented by lavender, cola and cinnamon notes. Broad and fleshy on the palate, offering intense red and blue fruit and spicecake flavors and a sweetening touch of mocha. Expands and deepens on the impressively long and seamless finish, which features supple tannins and sexy floral pastille and Indian spice qualities. Give this wine plenty of air if you open a bottle any time in the next few years.
An extremely fine and polished wine with dried-strawberry and -cherry character. Full to medium body, ultra-refined tannins and a polished and beautiful finish. A complex and beautiful wine. So hard not to drink now, but this has an amazing future. Better in 2020. Nov 2016, www.jamessuckling.com
