Tasting notes
While my last tasting note on the 2007 Meursault Les Narvaux was laudatory, I tend to think I nonetheless didn't fully grasp the extent of the wine's quality. Happily, following a bottle over several hours allowed me to make good my mistake. Unfurling in the glass with scents of citrus zest, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, praline, toasted sesame and a deft touch of youthful reduction, it's medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with incredible intensity and texture despite its tightly wound, chiseled profile. Concluding with an immensely penetrating finish, it is worth a special effort to seek out and taste—but take your time with the wine, because it's only after an hour that it really begins to show all its cards.
