Tasting notes
The 2015 Le Volte dell'Ornellaia is plump, juicy and delicious, all qualities that will make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. This Merlot-based blend offers plenty of appeal in a radiant style that captures the natural richness of the year in its generous red berry fruit.

The 2015 Le Volte is another outstanding wine from this terrific estate. Made from 67% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Sangiovese, aged 10 months in a mix of concrete tanks and barrels, it offers jammy black cherry and blackberry fruits, hints of licorice, graphite, and dried earth, medium body, ripe, polished tannin, and a great finish. I love its fruit-forward, delicious character and it should drink nicely for 4-5 years.
This is the least formal wine from the celebrated Ornellaia estate. The 2015 Le Volte dell'Ornellaia is a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. It opens to a pretty ruby color and shows bright aromas of sweet fruit and cherry. That fruit ripeness and sweetness comes through clearly. The overall effect is less complex, perhaps, but the wine is accessible and easy to drink nonetheless.
A fine-grained and focused red with berry, coffee and spice aromas and flavors. Medium body and a clean finish. Extremely pretty and delicious to drink now. Aug 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
