Tasting Notes
15% stems in pressing for the 2015. A late maturing and expressive plot. Aromas of rosemary, pear and red forest berries. Ripe, big and bold, but still retains refreshing acidity on the palate.

The 2015 Cornas Lieu Dit Les Eygats comes from a terrific vineyard located in the northern portion of the appellation and will see 14 months in 15% new barrels. It has a liqueur of rocks-like minerality as well as layers of blueberries, currants, peppery herbs, graphite and licorice. Full-bodied, incredibly concentrated and stacked on the palate, with a finish that won’t quit, I just hope it shows this well from bottle! The quality (and number of cuvées) from this estate continues to soar, and this is easily the finest lineup of wines I’ve tasted from this team. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
Full and dark robe. Has a nose of inner strength, one that is brooding in its cave, with airs of dark berries, a big pile of cassis with black cherry in tow. There are outliers of licorice and musky flowers. The oaking is crisp. The palate gives a stream of black fruits, is fine and round in style, with ripe tannins well in step. This has good structure, potential. The tannins bring length, excitement, and stamp it as a true Cornas. There is a big blackcurrant sign-off. Lots to come here. Oct 2016, www.drinkrhone.com
