Tasting notes
15% stems in pressing for the 2015. A late maturing and expressive plot. Aromas of rosemary, pear and red forest berries. Ripe, big and bold, but still retains refreshing acidity on the palate.

Lurid violet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe cherry and blueberry, and notes of candied flowers, incense and smoky Indian spices build in the glass. Sappy and expressive on the palate, offering intense dark berry and violet flavors that are lifted by a snap of juicy acidity. Shows excellent focus and spicy thrust on the gently tannic finish, which lingers with strong, floral-driven tenacity.
The 2015 Cornas Lieu Dit Les Eygats comes from a terrific vineyard located in the northern portion of the appellation and will see 14 months in 15% new barrels. It has a liqueur of rocks-like minerality as well as layers of blueberries, currants, peppery herbs, graphite and licorice. Full-bodied, incredibly concentrated and stacked on the palate, with a finish that won’t quit, I just hope it shows this well from bottle! The quality (and number of cuvées) from this estate continues to soar, and this is easily the finest lineup of wines I’ve tasted from this team. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
