Tasting notes
Hailing from a 1.3 hectare plot of approximately 40 year old vines, planted on quartz and granite soils completely surrounded by woodland. Rich, dark fruits, spice of black pepper and a lovely mineral note cutting through. Full bodied with excellent structure and a long, lasting finish. Nov 2016

Deep ruby. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe cherry and raspberry, along with musky floral and earth notes. Stains the palate with sweet red fruit, lavender pastille and spicecake flavors that deepen and spread out steadily on the back half. Delivers a suave blend of richness and energy and finishes extremely long and juicy, displaying harmonious tannins and resonating florality.
Below Poncié. 1.3 ha surrounded by woods, granite with lots of quartz. Picked at the beginning of September with 15% whole bunch. Aged in large old oak. Very firm and punchy with lots of racy minerals on the end. Nothing heavy about this – very distinctive. Not like the Beaujolais norm. Polished tannins. Very chewy end. Long peacock’s tail on the finish. Beautiful texture. (JR)
