Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Baron de Brane has an earthy, dried leaves and forest floor nose over a core of warm red currants and black cherries plus touches of blueberry pie. The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with a decent fruit core and slightly hard, rustic finish. Feb 2018, www.robertparker.com

About the producer

Brane Cantenac
Château Brane-Cantenac has been a consistent performer in the Margaux wine appellation since Henri Lurton took over the property, but thanks to replanting and investment in the last decade, quality has seen another sharp upswing.
