Score 89+/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2015
The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark, powerful wine. Black cherry, plum, game, smoke, tobacco and earthiness abound, but there is more than enough depth to balance some of the wilder, gamier undertones. Overall, the 2010 is a bit rough around the edges, but also intriguing in its own way.

Dark ruby with bricky rim. A little reductive, sweet-sour nose. Could be brett? Numb fruit on the palate and with firm tannins on the finish. A little unbalanced and hard. (WS)
