Tasting notes
Salty and interesting. Lots here with many layers. I'd happily drink this in any circumstances – though preferably with food! Sinewy. (JR)

A blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, and the rest Syrah and Cinsault, the 2015 Coudoulet De Beaucastel Rouge is a ripe, rounded, supple, sexy wine that offers tons of blackberry fruit, peppery herbs, violet, and tapenade aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, silky, polished and elegant, with sweet tannin and awesome purity, it's one of the strongest vintages I can remember from this estate.
Leading off the 2015s from bottle, the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel is impressive with its tobacco leaf, olive, and earthy, dark fruit-driven style. It’s medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, and has fabulous concentration and depth for a Côtes du Rhône. I’d happily drink it over the coming decade. The Perrin family continues to knock it out of the park and have produced some of the wines of the vintage in 2015. In addition, I’ve included the Famille Perrin Gigondas releases here as well.
Perennially one of the best Côtes du Rhône on the market, the Perrins have hit the mark again with their 2015 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet de Beaucastel. So complex, lush and rich, it can compete with many producers' Châteauneufs, this vintage reveals dark fruit, hints of cola, cinnamon and allspice and a long, slightly warm finish.
About the producer

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate is one of the Rhône’s most famous addresses. With a history stretching back to the 16th century, Beaucastel remains family owned and run, with the fifth generation of the Perrin family – Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Cécile, Charles, Matthieu and César – at the helm today.
