Tasting notes
(tasted from tank): Pale yellow with a green tinge. Distinctly citric aromas of lemon, lime and white flowers. Very fresh and penetrating, showing excellent density leavened by terrific lift; boasts superb limestone intensity. A subtle salinity carries through to the almost painful palate staining finish. A real outperformer for its appellation.

The 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes has a complex bouquet with hints of white flowers intermingling with the citrus and stony aromas. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, the acidity very nicely judged here and lending wonderful harmony and focus. It gently fans out on the finish with hints of greengage and citrus peel, completing a superb Saint-Aubin from Olivier Lamy. This comes recommended.
Slightly cloudy appearance. Musky, lightly reduced aromas of lime and crushed rock. Sappy, chewy and extract rich, showing lovely limey lift and distinctive warm, rocky minerality. Very ripe, saline and strong on the back end. The site on rocky, decomposing calcaire is hot and early, notes Lamy. A second sample that had not yet been sulfited was equally salty but much more taut and lemony and should provide this wine with excellent spine.
The Saint-Aubin “La Frionnes” is a pretty wine with rich fruit, quite exotic with a nice balancing acidity and limestony minerality. The nose is offering rich yellow fruit .. quite refined and relatively ripe with a nice citrus infused minerality. On the palate rich charming and harmonious offering a nice balance and drinkability. Could be an interesting wine for grilled lobster . Jan 2017, www.winehog.org
