Tasting notes
The 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is excellent, offering up a pure and unadorned bouquet of crisp green apples, white flowers and crushed chalk that's classic Lamy. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, stony and saline, with bright, tangy acids and a pure, mineral finish. Right now, it's tight-knit and reserved, so several years' patience is advised.

The 2015 Saint Aubin En Remilly ler Cru has an exotic bouquet for this vineyard, featuring dried mango, hints of lychee and light passion fruit aromas. It is not unattractive but lacks terroir expression. The palate is fresh and spicy on the entry, displaying a fine bead of lively acidity and demonstrating impressive depth. There is more activity and personality in the mouth than on the nose, and the finish fans out with hints of orange peel and a touch of sour lemon. This is an En Remilly that you end up liking more and more with acquaintance. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (DIAM 10 closure)
Pale, bright yellow. Complex, vibrant aromas of lemon, lime, menthol, mint, white flowers and crushed rock. Tactile, slightly saline and spicy, with its brisk acidity and underlying minerality giving the fine grained middle palate a slightly metallic quality. Showing less personality today than the Frionnes but this is very closed. Finishes adamantly dry, stony and austere for 2015, with piquant notes of lemon, lime and minerals. Lamy planned to bottle most of his 2015s in July but may wait another month for this one.
Bright lemon yellow. Knockout nose combines citrus peel, white pepper and stony minerality. Very concentrated and precise in the mouth, conveying superb energy to its citrus and saline mineral flavors. Strong sappy, dusty extract here and chewy and vibrant on the resounding aftertaste. An outstanding Saint Aubin wine in the making.
