Tasting notes
Mid straw, weighty and quite oaky, arguably a touch too prominent, depending on your taste. Fair weight of fruit but the oak tannins are clearly drying the finish, not enough wine for the barrel. Lean and tight.

(picked very early, at the end of August, as the Aloxe portion of this grand cru is at lower altitude and is well exposed to sun): Full yellow color; darker than the Bâtard. Chalky yet deeply pitched aromas of apricot, smoky minerality and earth, with some oak showing. Rich, ripe and large-scaled but with strong acidity giving the orange oil, brown spice and mineral flavors a penetrating quality. A distinctly tannic style of 2015, this wine conveys an impression of silex firmness. Finishes with surprising acidity and a touch of salinity. This wine will need time in bottle to gain in pliancy but should be outstanding.
