Cask sample. Mid cherry red. Dark-fruited and peppery/savoury. Chewy but not in the least tough. A little bit reductively savoury too. All in harmony. Not trying to please just now but with promise for future elegance. (JH)

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a lovely red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet, the oak nicely integrated and exuding fine purity. The palate exudes pure Pinoté (for want of a better expression), fleshy ripe red cherries and strawberry fruit, a little salinity towards the finish, but I just like the way this flows. This comes recommended.
(from ~70 year old vines). This is very Gevrey in character with its intensely earthy and animale-suffused dark berry fruit aromas. The rich, delicious and concentrated medium weight flavors possess a sleek mouth feel, all wrapped in a sappy, complex and lingering if slightly warm finale.
