The 2015 Vosne-Romanée is an attractive village-level wine. Forward and juicy, the 2015 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Sweet tobacco, cedar, menthol and crushed flowers add aromatic intrigue. This silky, mid-weight Vosne offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal in its supple fruit, although it is not quite the overachiever some of the other village wines are. The oak is also a bit present today.

The 2015 Vosne Romanee is a blend of two parcels to the south of the village. It has a generous bouquet with ample black cherries and blueberry fruit, very pure and quite floral in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy blackberry and raspberry on the entry. I find more mineralité here than the Nuits Saint-Georges Villages, with commendable structure on the finish.

Bright medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of cherry-chocolate cough medicine and earth. Sweet and slightly high-toned in the mouth, with cherry and raspberry fruit flavors shaped and lifted by nicely integrated acidity. Offer very good texture and density for village wine. Finishes with serious broad tannins and noteworthy juicy length. This wine has become more structured in recent years, noted Pierre Rovani, explaining that one patch of vines previously had too much grass planted to properly nourish the grapes in dry years.
