Score 93-95/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2016
(100% destemmed; from vines planted in 1926): Bright red-ruby color. Highly aromatic yet somewhat restrained scents of black cherry, rose petal and licorice. Quite taut and closed on the palate, in a pungent rocky style. There's something Musigny-like about this wine's combination of minerality, purity and refinement of texture. Finishes extremely subtle and long, with an impression of medicinal reserve. An outstanding wine in the making but hard to taste after the Bonnes-Mares. Laurent presented this sample before his Echézeaux, but I prefer this cuvée in vintage 2015.
