Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Vougeot 1er Cru Les Petits Vougeot reveals attractive aromas of Griotte cherry, rose petal, dried flowers and orange rind, with little to hint at the savory nuances to come with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, sappy and transparent, its caressing, velvety attack segueing into a chalky mid-palate and finish. A very elegant rendition of this lovely climat below Les Amoureuses.

Bright medium red. Liqueur-like black cherry along with spicy oak on the reticent nose. In the mouth, the liqueur-like quality is countered by good medicinal reserve to its black cherry and dark berry fruit flavors. But this wine will need some time in bottle to resolve its substantial, slightly dry tannins and absorb its oak component. It may well merit a higher score then, but this wine is unlikely ever to show the lift of its 2016 sibling.

Bright cherry red. Rather light nose. Then sweet but not quite fresh enough fruit. A little dull and plodding. Then a tart finish. (JR)

Bright, dark red. Aromas of black cherry, spices and bitter chocolate. Sappy, tactile and intense, conveying an impression of medicinal firmness to its dark fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with very firm, slightly tough tannins and good length and grip. More like a '14 than a '15 in style.
