Tasting notes
(this has some young vines 1ers added to a blend of 90% Basses Maizières and 10% Les Vigneux). Enough wood to remark upon frames an expressive and well-layered nose of Asian-style tea, plum, violet and a lovely array of spice elements. The succulent and caressing medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate concentration that buffers the moderately firm tannins shaping the balanced and delicious finale. This too is very good for its level. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com

The 2015 Vosne-Romanee Villages, which hails from the lieu-dit of Bas Mazieres, is a lovely wine, opening in the glass with pretty notes of cherry, rose petal and black tea. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and vibrant, with an ample core of succulent fruit and a chassis of fine tannin which is beginning to gently assert itself as this begins to shut down. Lavish and dramatic in barrel, this Vosne now shows a level of tension and energy that augers very well for its evolution. Apr 2018, www.robertparker.com
