Deep red-ruby color. Explosive, vibrant nose melds black raspberry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate. Plush, sweet and tangy, with tactile dark berry and dark chocolate flavors saturating the mouth. Powerful, concentrated village wine with compelling sweetness and no heaviness. Finishes very long, with lingering notes of bitter chocolate, licorice and violet. This is delicious right now but has the stuffing to age.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Village includes 60% whole bunch fruit and was matured in 60% new oak. It has a perfumed bouquet that is quite floral in style, black cherries and raspberry preserve, hints of violet developing in the glass that recede and offer orange blossom and even quince jelly aromas with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and lively, very elegant in style with great precision on the lightly spiced finish. There is so much joie-de-vivre in this village cru, one of the best that I have tasted at Sylvie's domaine. This comes recommended.

Deep and rich and sweet. Polished tannins. Concentrated. Solid. Honest. No tricks! Very healthy. (JR)

(50% vendange entier ): Bright, dark red. Slightly reduced aromas of black fruits, violet, leather and game hint at almost chocolatey ripeness. Large-scaled, rich and pliant, but with excellent vinosity to its sappy flavors of black fruits and licorice. Almost liqueur-like but without heaviness, this very dense village wine finishes with serious but suave tannins and superb length. Very primary today but not austere.
