Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Corbeaux comes from three different parcels located close to Mazis-Chambertin and is aged in 100% new oak and 70% whole bunch fruit. It has a very perfumed bouquet with expressive dark cherry fruit intermingling with raspberry preserve, orange rind and just a subtle dried blood note. The palate is medium-bodied and just felt a little oaky on the entry, good depth of fruit with a dash of spice towards the structured finish that is showing a bit of wood tannin at the moment.

75% whole bunch, 100% new oak. From 2012 onwards they had Corbeaux marked on the label. Two casks but one can’t taste them. Firm and masculine with masses of pleasure. Masses of juicy fruit. Good texture and masses of intensity. Great race and sumptuousness. Bravo! (JR)

(from a .08 ha parcel; vinified with ~70% whole clusters). Here there are no reductive issues as the ultra-sauvage nose displays notes of fresh, ripe and dense dark currant, newly turned earth and floral nuances. There is both excellent richness and volume to the concentrated and powerful middle weight plus flavors that possess a beguiling sense of energy that suffuses the beautifully balanced and again sneaky long finish.
