Tasting notes
The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village continues to go from strength to strength, and this bottle was even more satiny and seductive than the last bottle I drank, some six months earlier. Wafting from the glass with a fragrant bouquet of raspberries, red cherries, rose petals and incipient hints of mossy soil, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and expansive, with melting tannins, a tangy core of fruit and a long, beautifully delineated finish. With time in bottle, this wine's vibrant energy is becoming just as apparent as its ripe fruit.

(these vines were picked on September 12, just before the rain; 100% destemmed): Bright dark red. Cool aromas of cherry, herbs and mint. Creamy cherry and red berry flavors are at once soft and juicy. This very gentle wine should give immediate satisfaction. The crop level here was just 20 hectoliters per hectare due to hot weather during the flowering.

The 2015 Savigny les Beaune Village has a "punchy" nose of raspberry preserve, Autumn leaves and woodland scents, perhaps rustic but charming all the same. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannin. It feels a little tough and hard on the finish at the moment and hopefully will gain more refinement once in bottle, when more flesh might come through. I will be prudent with my score for now.
