Tasting notes
(13.5% alcohol; 30% vendange entier ): Dark red-ruby. Wild aromas and flavors of black raspberry, earthy spices and mocha, with an element of menthol freshness providing lift. Round, fat and highly concentrated; boasts outstanding richness and depth but will need extended aging to deliver on its inherent complexity. The crop level here was just 25 hectoliters per hectare, or less than the Chambertins. Most promising today on spicy, rising, edge-free finish, which saturates every square millimeter of the palate with salty minerality and dark fruits. This wonderfully silky, classy Bonnes-Mares is from stony, whiter soil on the Chambolle side of the cru.
