Tasting notes
Bizot's 2015 Vosne-Romanée Village is a dramatic, extroverted wine, exploding from the glass with aromas of incense, nutmeg, violets, dark chocolate and ripe cherries. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, supple and succulent, with fine-grained tannins, crunchy fruit and an ethereal, open-knit profile. While it's impressively integrated and clearly of very fine quality, this delicate Vosne is quite marked by its time in 100% new oak. It also evolves quite rapidly in the glass. So, I suspect it will be at its best in its extravagantly expressive youth, and I'd be inclined to pull corks right away.

An exuberantly spicy, cool and admirably pure nose combines notes of violet, dark berry fruit and soft oak nuances. There is a lovely sense of detail to the sleek and vibrant middle weight flavors that possess really lovely depth and persistence. This is worth checking out. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
