The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos de L’Arlot 1er Cru, which has 54% whole bunches, has a pretty, comparatively light bouquet with perfumed red fruit, rose petal, orange blossom and a touch of tangerine. The palate is medium-bodied with a rather sour cherry-tinged entry, and modest depth, attenuating slightly with quite a sharp acidity towards the finish. Fine, but not the best vintage in recent years. Tasted at the Domaine de L’Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.

Quite a vigorous mid garnet. Rich, generous nose with some real sweetness. Delicate and fruity with good balance and only light fine, sandy tannins on the end. But probably only just ready to drink? (JR)
(55% vendange entier ): Bright, moderately saturated medium red. Sexy nose combines raspberry, strawberry, rose petal and smoke with deeper musky mineral notes and whole-cluster spiciness. Plush, dense and stuffed with fruit, with a hint of cranberry bitterness tightening up the back half of the wine (this cuvée and the Suchots were lightly acidified in 2015, according to winemaker Geraldine Godot). Quite serious for this bottling, finishing very pure and brisk, with lingering red berry notes and an edgy quality that will require patience. I'd love to come back to this wine in about ten years.
