Matured in 20% new wood, the 2013 Bourgogne Rouge Croix Blanche has a crisp black cherry and cassis-tinged bouquet that is neatly entwined with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. This is a “laid back," almost nonchalant Bourgogne Rouge with perhaps more mineral notes than fruit compared to its peers and boasting a lovely spicy note lingering on the aftertaste.

20% new oak, no whole bunch. Rich and lively with lots of fruit and pretty advanced. Easy and round. (JR)
