Tasting notes
Moderately saturated medium red. Very restrained aromas of dark raspberry and complex minerality. Juicy, spicy and precise, delivering excellent intensity and supporting minerality to its ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit flavors. This wine boasts more class than the last few samples, and its tannins are more tender. Finishes with subtle rising length and high notes of flowers and raspberry.

(these vines are almost 60 years old): Healthy red with ruby tones. Musky purple fruits and menthol on the nose; less expressive than the Chabiots but shows good ripeness. Dark raspberry and cassis flavors are enlivened by an herbal nuance. Has very good acidity to buffer its tannins, no doubt due to the fact that these vines are planted along a north-south axis. Finishes juicy but a bit youthfully clenched.
The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes has a quite feisty bouquet, perhaps just a touch of volatile acidity here giving the fruit a lift. The palate is well balanced with firm, slightly austere tannin. The fruit here veers more towards black than red, quite saline towards towards the finish that I feel just needs to develop more length.
