The 2014 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru les Chaumées, which sees no new oak, was very closed on the nose with touches of caramelized pear and dried pineapple. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry and is nicely focused, but I would like more character and minerality to come through on the finish.

About the producer

Au Pied du Mont Chauve
Au Pied du Mont Chauve is one of the Picard family's labels. The estate produces brilliant-value Burgundy and is one of few producers able to hold back wine for later release.
