Tasting notes
The 2013 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico is an expressive and fruit-driven red wine with added touches of oak spice and smoke at the back (thanks to 12 months in oak). The wine is smooth and silky in approach with a fine sense of balance and integration that is very characteristic of the vintage (which I generally find to be very nicely interpreted in coastal Tuscany). You'll want to buy a couple of cases for when friends and family come over for dinner. Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot make up the blend. Some 120,000 bottles are produced.

Very pretty and focused red with dried cherry, currant and flower aromas and flavors. Medium body, dense center palate and a crisp finish. Lovely brightness and serenity to this wine. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot.
