Score 92-95/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound

(from a .18 ha parcel of 20+ year old vines and fermented like the Clos de Vougeot). A densely fruited nose of dark berries is at once earthy, spicy and animale. The imposingly scaled, lavishly rich and sleekly muscled flavors are very firmly structured though not at all aggressive and the sheer depth of material is admirable on the hugely long finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. This is impressive but very clearly built-to-age. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
