Tasting notes
Their proprietary red, the 2014 Proprietary Red High Fidelity, is a blend of 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. Ratcheting up the level of richness, density and intensity, this wine offers blueberry and mocha, as well as plenty of floral notes intermixed with cassis and blueberry. It is beautifully rendered and full-bodied, with not a hard edge to it. The velvety tannins, the silky texture and the full-bodied richness and finish suggest a wine that can be drunk now or cellared for another 20 or more years. 94+ (RP)

The 2014 High Fidelity, Lede's Merlot-based blend, is round, succulent and inviting. A blast of dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and licorice are all pushed forward. Notes of torrefaction and mocha infuse the finish. Not surprisingly, the High Fidelity is the most accessible of Lede's 2014s. (AG)
Lastly, the 2013 Proprietary Red Blend High Fidelity, which is their most powerful wine at 15.2% natural alcohol, is a blend of 50% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot. This might not be as nuanced and complex as some of the other wines, but it’s big, powerful, juicy, rich and full. The color is dense purple and the finish quite long. I think more nuance will emerge as this wine has bottle age. This is impressive for sure. Drink now through 2030+.
Another gorgeous, exuberant wine, the 2013 High Fidelity exudes richness. Plump and open-knit, especially for the year, the 2013 is full of personality. Raspberry jam, mocha, spice and new leather meld together in a succulent, nuanced wine that delivers the goods big time. Today, the 2013 is dense, powerful and explosive. Accordingly, it should be cellared for at least a few years. This is a terrific showing from Cliff Lede and winemaker Chris Tynan. High Fidelity is a blend of 50% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot from Twin Peaks in Stags Leap and Madrona Ranch. (AG) 94+
