Good deep red. Redcurrant, graphite, underbrush and roasted oak on the nose; rather cabernet-like. Then peppery and dominated by its structure; less primary and tougher than the Petits Monts, with some acid to lose. Finishing tannins coat the entire palate.

Deep ruby-red. Black raspberry, minerals, coffee and charred oak on the nose. Thick, sweet and quite oaky; today the wood element dries the wine and blocks its personality. Two other barrels showed more fruit and minerality. This will need an earlier bottling than the Petits Monts.
