Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières from Heitz-Lochardet has an odd nose at first. It is not as clean as I would have liked, reduced with candle wax and honeysuckle notes, but it needs more fruit. The palate is saline on the entry, sharp and pointed, just a touch of spice toward the second half with a prickle on the aftertaste. It is like a young wine that does not know what it wants to do.
