The 2015 Riesling Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese *** (White Capsule) opens deep, pure and flinty on the nose, with complex slate and citrus flavors and fascinating complexity. This comes from predominantly old, ungrafted vines in the Kranklay plot. It is full-bodied, fine and noble, with an incredible intensity and firmly structured, highly mineral juiciness. This is a super salty, grippy, mineral and persistent Würzgarten from predominantly old, ungrafted vines that transports the finesse, freshness and endless juiciness this Mosel top cru can deliver even in dry and sunny years. The finish is long, complex and salty, full of tension and strung to breaking point. This is a fascinating and stimulating dry Riesling and one of the greatest dry Rieslings I have ever tasted (Alsace included). Clos-Ste-Hune-drinkers of the world, unite and taste Molitor!
