Tasting notes
The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Clos du Cailleret 1er Cru has quite a forward, floral bouquet of yellow flowers, yellow plum, orange peel and just a hint of toffee apple. The palate is well balanced with a sappy opening, a fine thread of acidity and more sophistication than the nose, at least at the moment. Spicy veins surface toward the impressively persistent finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2015 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos du Cailleret is one of the highlights of Jean-Michel Chartron's range this year, unfurling in the glass with aromas of preserved citrus, citrus zest, white flowers and wet limestone. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, taut and electric, with wonderful energy, a deep mid-palate, and a tongue-tingling chalky finish of considerable duration. This is amazingly bright and focused for a 2015 Pulginy 1er cru.
