Really very intense briary nose with some marked acidity in evidence. Ripe fruit and lots of both acid and tannin still. This doesn’t yet seem ready! Opened out to cough pastilles and hemp. Very confident and firm. Then it opened out to something attractively fungal. Spicy note. (JR)

Bright red-ruby. Rich, smoky aromas of mocha, coffee and bacon fat; less expressive and fruit-driven on the nose today than the Gevrey vieilles vignes But then fat and sweet in the mouth, with a layered textured and impressive breadth. Finishes very long, with creamy tannins and noteworthy finesse.
