The 2014 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate is bold, rich and voluptuous, with creamy texture and a round, spherical feel that is quite distinctive. Silky tannins and soft contours give the wine much of its succulent, upfront personality.

Leading with beautiful floral notes of orange blossoms and honeysuckle, the 2014 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate offers a core of baked peaches, apple pie and marzipan. Full-bodied, buxom and seductively creamy in the mouth, it offers layer upon layer of perfumed stone fruit and mineral flavors, with incredible length.

The 2014 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate exhibits more gravelly, wet pebble notes and loads of uplifted aromatics, including peach, pineapple, orange rind and lemon blossom. It is again a complex style of Chardonnay made from a cold microclimate.

A deep, dense wine, the Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate hits the palate with serious intensity. Peach, apricot, honey, almond and butter flesh out in a succulent, creamy Chardonnay built on depth and texture. Today, the Ellen Lane is quite explosive. It will be interesting to see if the wine acquires a bit more finesse as it ages or later in bottle.
