Tasting notes
The 2015 Taillefer is a bold, rustic wine. A host of feral, gamy notes give the Taillefer its distinctive wildness. Black cherry, smoke, game, tobacco and white pepper, along with firm tannins reinforce an impression of power and rusticity. There is no shortage of personality, though. That much is evident.

The 2015 Taillefer is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc aged for 12 months in 50% new oak. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it has a broody nose with dark fruits, earth, licorice and black pepper notes. The medium to full-bodied mouth is packed with muscular fruit, with firm, chewy tannins and a lively lift to the earthy finish.
Light, slightly toasty nose. Very sweet, almost cocoa impression. Solid rendition of Pomerol with an umami finish. Does the business… (JR)
