Tasting Notes

Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Aug 2016

Very closed, suggesting a bright future ahead, with delicate nose of violets, black pepper and ripe dark berry fruits. Beautifully intense and rich on the palate, pristine black cherry ad wax notes combine to form a beautiful structure.

2 ha, 100% Marsanne, 50+ year old vines on alluvial deposits and large stones. Beautiful mango, rhubarb and raw cream aromas. Very full in body. Good intensity of fruit, weighty but fresh and well balanced – a relatively opulent and easy-going vintage for this cuvée. Very complete and relaxed in its own skin, with mineral detail on the finish. Apr 2016, Matt Walls, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2017-2033

Another perfect wine is the 2015 Ermitage le Meal Blanc. The most decadent, unctuous and layered in the lineup, with to-die-for notes of white currants, toasted nuts, celery seed and licorice, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a huge mid-palate and a refreshing, pure, yet blockbuster finish that just won’t quit. If I had to pick a desert island white, this might be it. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
