This has some heft, thanks in part to a wall of toasty vanilla and ganache, yet there’s ample density to the core of plum and currant fruit. The tannins are velvety, as per the vintage. Just need to see if this can handle its oak. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com
Old vine Cabernet Franc and Merlot are a winning combination in what Jonathan Maltus regards as his best vineyard. Serious, dense and well structured, with compact, concentrated tannins, masses of blackberry and damson fruit, a hint of spice and a chalky finish. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2022-2030
A Jonathan Maltus (Le Dôme) wine from a parcel touching Angélus. Fine, opulent texture masks a big tannic frame. Powerful and long on the finish. A strapping wine that should age. Apr 2016, James Lawther MW, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2023-2035
