Tasting notes
The 2015 Teyssier is a fabulous introduction to Jonathan Maltus's wines. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and dark spice, along with the wine's natural lushness, give the Teyssier much of its immediacy and allure. Flamboyant an inviting, with impeccable balance, the 2015 has so much to offer, including a very appealing proposition of price and availability. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

Dark crimson. Rather sweet, dried-fruit aromas. But then there is freshness and this is an appetising whole. Just a bit of candy aromatically. (JR)
The 2015 Teyssier is a great introduction to the vintage. Dark, juicy and inviting, the 2015 exudes the richness of the year. Sweet floral, spice and new leather notes meld into the supple, silky finish. This is a gorgeous, modern Saint-Émilion from Jonathan Maltus. Naturally, the top wines in the range have more concentration, but then again, its impossible to argue with the value proposition here. The production of around 50,000 cases for a wine of this level is simply remarkable.
A balanced and pretty red with walnut and berry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
