The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Lusseau is scented of baked red currants and black plums with hints of sautéed herbs, earth and fungi. The full-bodied mouth is rich and packed with earthy layers, with firm, chewy tannins and a bit of grip on the finish.

Coming from the cellar master of Gerard Perse’s Pavie estate, the 2015 Château Lusseau is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It sports a deeper ruby color as well as rocking bouquet of blackcurrants, blackberries, toasted spice, licorice and leafy herbs. This opulent, ripe, sexy, lusciously style Saint-Emilion is loaded with charm and is going to deliver the goods over the coming decade or so.
Owned by Pavie's technical director. Just 13.8% alcohol. Good freshness on the nose. Medium weight and concentration and the better for it, in my humble opinion. Quite sinewy. (JR)
The 2015 Lusseau is a bold, powerful wine full of the intensity of the vintage. There is no shortage of power, but freshness proves to be more elusive, as the flavors are a bit roasted. Dark cherry, plum and tobacco are some of the signatures. It will be interesting to see if the 2015 finds a bit better balance during aging. The 2015 is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
