Tasting notes
Meaty, red fruit and floral nose followed by a rich, creamy and balanced palate. A lovely long and fully-rounded finish with loads of energy, smoky fruit and no edges. Excellent.

Black! Concentrated fruit with a hint of tar and much opulence. Sweet start - so much sweet fruit that the sandy tannins emerge only at the very end. But there is freshness here too. This works!
Lots of freshness and density with velvety tannins and blue fruits. Cool and spicy. Fascinating blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Malbec, 15 carmenère, and 1% Petit Verdot. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
The 2015 l'Eveche is a blend of 75% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc plus a seasoning of other varieties, aged in new oak, foudres and used barrels. It has a lifted blackberry and raspberry-scented bouquet with fine definition, broody, more introspective than I expected, the gravel soils imparting a Left Bank trait. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin. This is a structured Saint Emilion with fine salinity towards the finish, one that deserves 3-4 years in bottle, but I suspect will be worth the wait.
